What a privilege and joy it is for me to capture the miracle of babies in their mommies bellies. Especially a fellow infertility momma. I just am filled up with pure praise for the precious gift inside this beautiful woman. Praise God for the joy that comes in the morning and lifting up each and everyone of you that are waiting or hurting. Hold on to the only one who can dry your tears.
Lots of no napping and middle of the night play times because we now have two bottom teeth poking out! #sleepcomeback!!!

Did great with a trip in the car this week, such an improvement since he was little.
Hates tylenol! Loves being nakey and screens (uh oh) and still loves mommies camera!
Gah. The curls in this first image makes me literally drool. I can’t even imagine what curls their kids will have someday, but let’s take a peek into their engagement and get excited about their awesome wedding this coming June….FIRST #aftertheirmarriedcanIbegthemtomakebabies?! I can’t wait to share look two of their session…..it’s pretty messy and amazing!
Girls are you ready to swoon? This beau makes his girl a card every month for their anniversary. Like construction paper, ruler and sharpies galore for this sweet man! We made a banner of just some favorites for their session, but it was so amazing to see such a set of love notes! And of course their card tradition was part of their proposal! Sorry J, your secret is out. But goodness gracious, guys take note (ha, get it). This fiancé is hitting it out of the park!
Highlights of this week.
-No nap Thursday (which is when most of these were taken) the little man was crazy full of energy and decided naps were lame.
-Santa Diapers for days!! We probably will be in them till Christmas, I bought so many at 9 cents a piece!
-The remote picture is hilarious. We try to limit screen time (unless it’s no nap day then mommy need a Jimmy Fallon break) but I changed the laundry over and I come out to my baby away from every toy, but have my phone, the remote and his teething tablets all in his reach. Oh boy we are in for it!
-Speaking of in for it. This week has started the LUNGING towards things and wanting all the things not toys. Wrappers, blue stability ball, the water bottles…..I am almost laughing at how this kid throws his body at things he wants.
-Godzilla baby playmat time. Cal doesn’t want to sit or lay, he wants to swing off of it while standing. HA.
-Also figured out how to jump in the jumper.
-LOVES the camera, laughs everytime it comes out. I wonder how long that will last! 🙂
Such an amazing winter wedding filled with PERFECT details for this sweet couple. Their amazing vendors Lastings Impressions and Sadie’s Floral just created amazingly beautiful tablescapes, hanging pieces and vibe. This brides dress also had my heart from first sight! It’s a Enzoani from Posh Bridal Couture. Congrats to this adorably sweet couple. Now I totally can post a throw back to their adorable engagement session right?
OUCH! I scream as I slice my finger this morning, cutting my current food obsession, an avocado.
My entire life I have always heard this from my mother. Gina SLOW down. Whether it is talking too fast or trying to get 800 things done in a minute. I guess I have always been the type of girl that wants to do ALL the things. ALL at once.
To be honest this is where my brain has been the last couple of days. ALL THE THINGS, not enough time. ALL THE THINGS that need to be done right now in a 27 minute nap. ALL THE THINGS to do right this moment, as I would like to get to bed before 2am. All the THINGS so I can settle down and finish my 2015 goals and write that post. ALL THE THINGS. The panic, the stress, the getting short with loved ones and helpers around me, the disappointment with myself for getting here all out of whack, the I can’t’s. It’s a slippery slope.
Then my loving Father in heaven brings me out of my tail spin with a quick slice to an appendage. “SLOW DOWN” I hear again. “SLOW DOWN, Gina.” I relax a bit and realize. I DON’T want ALL THE THINGS. I can’t do ALL THE THINGS. When they are ALL THE THINGS.
I can only do one baby step at a time. One leap of faith. One deep breath. One email. One photo. That’s how we get real things done anyways. I am a MASTER at juggling, hustling and multitasking. But this year…. I don’t want to be.
I want to have a year of setting up systems in our new normal as a family of 3. Being parents together, a working momma, a serving wife and loving friend. Taking notes and time to see what rhythms work and don’t work. I want to tune into the Lord everyday to see HIS will for me, BEFORE I OPEN MY COMPUTER. To have an actionable list and get things done but leave WHITE SPACE for what the Lord has for us that day. Leave white space for giggles, for serving others, for taking a bath, for giving.
It’s going to take a lot of work to figure out how to slow down for this momma. For example in writing this post I have made and eaten lunch, lactation cookies, filled up water bottles and put another bandaid on this finger. It’s going to take preparation, to GIVE ME SPACE to breathe. It’s going to take clean spaces not filled with clutter to work in. It’s going to take pre-visualization and notes. It’s going to take a huge amount of simplifying which is a big goal for 2015.
But today I needed to declare. I am done doing ALL THE THINGS. I am sick of walking into my days with the mindset that I don’t have enough. Enough time, brain space, energy….with Jesus I have enough. Even with the mountains of work and home and a no-napping baby. I will repeat my favorite mantra lately. GOD IS NOT SURPRISED. God is not surprised at what is on my plate. He just asks for my hand to walk with Him to accomplish it.
And somedays He just has to pull out a kitchen mishap and the bandaids to remind me.
The plus to sending in your laptop to be fixed. Finding all these sessions I have yet to share. Can’t even handle this little one, her momma or that ridiculously gorgeous crown. Which was made by the amazing, one and only Prairie Fair . Emily? Will you make me one?
