Finally!! This beautiful North Carolina wedding that was published in Southern Weddings V4 is here for you to see. Hip. Hip. Hooray!!

Serene, chic and jovial.

My favorite words from Camille.”The thing that made our wedding different from most other weddings is that we only invited our immediate family. Since this was a second marriage for both of us and since we both have children we wanted it to be about the joining of two families. My goal was to keep it intimate and meaningful. Plus, it meant that I could go crazy with details since there were only 19 of us. It was like doing a styled shoot only it was for a real wedding. So fun”

This wedding was such a delight to be a part of. My mouth dropped when I came out to this beautiful table display and I couldn’t help but smile each time this couples eyes met. Camille and Mark are one of a kind and they definitely had a one of a kind wedding.

SO many of our days we spend muddled in the what-we-have-to-get-done-right-now-or-the-world-will-explode. We hardly ever pull our heads out of the sand to see the sun. To let our  hearts really FEEL. To open ourselves to others. To have more face-to-face time and less screen-to-screen (Thank you Nancy).

Stop covering your heart with menial things that in the long run don’t matter.

Let it breathe, let it SHINE.

P.S .:: Headed to DC today, keep up with the MTH2012 Spring tour and our everyday posts. And if you really want to see how nerdy I am check out my dance moves.

Life is too short to not squeeze your loved ones tight tonight. Adding in a lil’ smooch never hurts either.

This year I was so excited to have one of my favorite weddings published in print over in Southern Weddings Volume 4.

Brides and wedding lovers out there, I truly believe this is the best wedding magazine you can get. It’s not overtaken by ads, it is all beautiful INSPIRING content, and it’s fresh, written with words from the heart. The women that work here are outstanding. Get on over to their site and order your copy (the first versions are all amazing too)

Then there is this amazing couple, Camille and Mark. I won’t get into them much today but expect their full story and amazing photos tomorrow! But for now take a peek at this  7 page feature!

This was one of the most intimate weddings I have ever shot. It was crazy beautiful on a freezing windy day like today. Coral’s details and bouquet were so unique and totally her and her beau. Their love is SO evident in their excited expressions and sweet embraces.

I love Coral’s smile and even looking through these photos now, seeing her just enamored makes me teary. I would DIE to have an image like her laying in her dress. It brought back the memories of the hour I got “put away” at our wedding close to 5 years ago. Guests were arriving and how I laid down on the floor with my dress around me like a cupcake and only got point and shoot photo of this. Enjoy this crisp & clean beautiful winter wedding!

On a day like today, all I want to do is curl up by this reception’s fireplace and read a good book.

I’ve had a little break from blogging and I am back! Up until mid November my schedule ran like a freight train moving faster than fast. Thanksgiving and on has been a great blessing to rest, regroup, have time to put my house back together and spend time with missed family and friends. My work/life balance was way more productive than last years fall, so I am grateful to be growing and learning.

This wedding was my last wedding of the fall, but not of the year. I have a beautiful New Years Eve wedding lined up and I am so excited to share that special day with them and toast into the new year. This wedding,  Amy & Mike’s wedding was such a highlight to the year. Walking into Amy’s room as I got there I was greeted by a hug and beautiful excitement at all the awesome details she put together. Amy looked stunning and so did the rest of her day.

I would have to say one of my favorite parts of the day was when it was time to give thanks to the guests at the reception. Amy and Mike played Paper. Rock. Scissors. for who had to give the speech. I laughed so hard as they did best out of three, until I was put to tears as Amy thanked me in front of the guests. Goodness girl, I am so thankful for you. Blushing still and thankful. I will never forget your words.

Now cozy up and picture yourself in front of that beautiful fireplace……and the cupcakes too

To be truthfully honest Halloween kinda scares me. Definitely its fun to see all the little kids dressed up and the creativity come out, but this girl is completely afraid of the gore and guts. I have never been a fan of scary movies either, meaning I am still scared of E.T. That nerdy bit aside, this halloween wedding holds one of my most hilarious and embarrassing moments ever.

During a wedding reception, my assistant and I almost always try to find a “spot” a place for our stuff. Water, camera bags, jackets and  sometimes we end up taking 5 minute breaks in the in between so setting up camp is a necessity. At this wedding we had a spot in a room in the front of the reception hall. There were a lot of things in the room, but it was secluded which is just what we needed to take a breather here and there and to have a home base of sorts. The wedding was wonderful and after a full day of shooting outside we were ready for a warm up and the scrumptious meal we had been smelling all afternoon. After we got our plates, we were going to grab our bags before we sat down. I opened the door to our home base with my back since I had my camera in one hand and my plate full of Italian in the other.  As I turned into the room I got the biggest halloween trick of the night when I saw…

Grandpa. In. his. UNDERPANTS.  We are talking pants on the GROUND, people.

I froze and screamed at the same time. I can’t believe I didn’t toss my whole plate of food. All of the grandkids were right outside the door so they had a front row seat for the show.  Needless to say, the whole hallway was roaring. Grandpa just looked up and grinned. I shut the door as fast as possible while yelling, I am soooorrrrry. And seriously laughed so hard, I was literally crying. We tried to eat for the next hour and could barely put food in our mouths with out the giggles.

So, needless to say, this wedding always holds a special place in my heart….and I ALWAYS knock before I open any doors.

She started out her day pretty normal. Putting on her running shoes and getting a workout in. Although, this day was more special than the rest. In a couple of short hours she would be putting on a white sparkly dress and amazing blue shoes. Shortly, she would be seeing her soon-to-be husband, her dear friends and family. This day was like no other. She soaked in all in, every moment. She literally radiated beauty all day long, just beautiful love and happiness emoted from her and her Mr.

Meet Mr. & Mrs. Mulvihill.

Ps. you two. I could take photos of you snuggling and just living in the moment forever. I love you both!

I met these two over pizza. It felt immediately like hanging out with old friends. Laughing and telling stories, hearing about how they have been together about a decade. The way these two look at each other is crazy powerful. When they lock their eyes, the amount of love and just gentle love is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. It’s magnetic.

Plus this bride loves to jam just as much as I do. I love her smile, spunk and extra awesome dance moves. Girl, God was so here on your day. Smiling down on you both.

Love is life. And if you miss love, you miss life.

It’s always a blessing when your friends ask you to photograph their big day. This couple’s wedding was not only amazingly beautiful, it was an absolute blast! The love for each other and just genuine glances throughout the day. They are definitely living through love and I am so glad that I will be able to see their love flourish for next 10 years. Much Love James & Kim.
