“Never neglect the little things. Never skimp on that extra effort, that additional few minutes, that soft word of praise or thanks, that delivery of the very best that you can do. It does not matter what others think, it is of prime importance, however, what you think about you. You can never do your best (which should always be your trademark) if you are cutting corners and shirking responsibilities.
You are special. Act it.”
Reading this today has challenged me. It makes me yearn to be my best, no matter the circumstances. It pushes me to slow down and not get wrapped up in my little world. By worrying and meandering about my life and future, takes away from living in the present. I want to be here right now.
Why you ask? Reading this also reminded me that a small act could affect another life. I could quite possibly change the course or mood of someone’s day by a small gesture. It could be opening a door, paying for the person behind you, an encouraging email, or as simple as wearing a smile and extending a hello. I want to be that light to others. I want to pay it forward, in thanks to those who have done this for me. I want to be aware of these opportunities. I want to look for the little things.
You with me?
