Intimate Sunset Como Park Wedding
Kelsey and Dan had a custom, intimate wedding ceremony at the Ordway Gardens at Como Park in St. Paul. It started just as the sun set at it was so special to be there with their immediate family and close friends as they exchanged the vows they wrote to one another in front of the calm pond with fish swimming below.
From there, the wedding party headed the University Club of St. Paul, where a larger group of family and friends welcomed them with sparklers and the celebration began — complete with live music and a seasonal beer brewed by the maid of honor! The day was truly a great balance of the two of them coming together as a couple, and celebrating their commitment with others.
To kick off the evening, the grooms’ brother gave the best speech. He talked about how Dan, as a child, was not good at tying knots and actually lost one of the family’s boats. While they eventually recovered the boat, Dan never lived down the incident. He continued to jazz his brother and recalled when he brought Kelsey home to their small town for the first time. He brought the speech home with tears saying, he was so grateful his brother Dan learned how to “tie a proper knot” and snag his amazing wife. I mean, can you even?! Seriously, my heart soared at that moment.
My other favorite part of the day was Kelsey + Dan’s amazing first dance surprise! It was just so sweet + perfect for them and the way that Kelsey’s dress moved to the song + their amazing steps was magical!! I love the way that these two danced their night + party away!!! Seriously some of my favorite dancing images ever!
Kelsey and Dan, it was such an honor + treat to be part of your special day. I know there will be SO many more special adventures together that cause to celebrate + dance. So much LOVE!
