Surprise Snow + Burgundy Milwaukee Wedding

My final wedding of 2019 did not disappoint! There is just something incredibly special about photographing another family member of a past couple. When Adam’s sister Sarah contacted me. I can’t lie I squealed in excitement! It’s always so fun to spend time with amazing clients and their families again! It’s such an awesome time!

These two live in California where Justin is from, yet really wanted to get married in the church Sarah grew up in! Their hearts were set on making each part of their day connected to what is important to them. Their faith, friends and family from all over the world, their music + readings all were so unique. Also their choice to opt-out of cake  and opt-in for Kopps Custard! It’s a Milwaukee classic and the best was the DJ kept saying ice cream and everyone kept yelling out it’s CUSTARD! 🙂 These two LOVE to travel and have a goal of hitting every national park in their lifetime, it was great to see pictures at the tables and in cocktail hour of their travels already so far!

So many favorite parts to the day!! From the sweet moment after they walked out of the church. These two didn’t do a first look and they really got a moment to take each other in! (this hardly even happens when there is no first look!) and I just melted when I saw Justin lean in for a sweet shoulder kiss. The rest of my favorites are quite hilarious. From the best man fainting during the ceremony, he worked hard to get up a couple of times and then owning it and using it perfectly in his best man speech for the crowd to just erupt in laughter! Was amazing!

Also, the crazy snow! Seriously it came out of nowhere, it wasn’t on the radar and the second we lined up to take the first bridal party shot, it pelted snow with whipping winds! Like tiny balls of snow/hail and it was hilarious as it was so unexpected!  It did this a couple of times during formals and this amazing wedding party smiled right through it!

Knowing Sarah wanted a fall feel for her wedding, we found some amazing color still left and I gave her my sperry boots as we captured some great portraits! These two throughout the day were just incredible and so excited to get married. They cherished the time with their friends and family before the ceremony and truly had a blast the rest of the day (see their entrance and room reveal) My heart is so inspired by them to live to the full!

Sarah + Luthey, I wish you nothing but a million years together living in the spontaneous adventure that you so wonderfully do! I pray for surprise snowstorm + sunshowers  to always remind you of your amazing wedding and laughter to carry for a lifetime. So grateful to call you friends + deliver this blog sneak! SO MUCH LOVE!

Wildflowers  + All The Fun at Solar Arts Building

Can you see the pure bliss!? Elation even? This day was filled with so much giddy, joy and love we all were just cheering Emily + Wes on! They spun a whole new flavor to Solar Arts with a wildflower and earthy jewel tones look + some great beer! That arch! Swoon!

We popped around town with their two adorable pups and we just had the best time with the best crew!  It’s so evident in their photos that Emily and Wes love to laugh together and truly have such an incredibly bond. I also have to note how obsessed I was with Emily’s earrings! I may or may not have peeked all over BHLDN to see if they are still in stock! Her dress was incredible and literally fit her like a glove! And the wildflower touch in her hair was 100%.

My favorite parts of the day were just how in tune and in love these two are. They are just adorable and make you want to love harder and deeper and be silly and laugh at all the same time. Another favorite was their pups walking or should I say running up the aisle. Last but not least their vows, I was able to take a couple of ring shots on them, but they captivated all of us during the ceremony! The images of them looking at each other during the ceremony slay me. Remarkable.

Emily + Wes I wish you years and years of long runs, great brewery stops + puppy kisses forever and ever! Enjoy your blog sneaks!

Elegant + Classic Nicollet Island Pavilion Wedding

I don’t know if it can get more elegant than Jordan + Sam’s wedding day. It was incredibly stunning and Nicollet Island Pavilion never looked SO good! We rocked many of the iconic shots in Minneapolis and those that meant so much to these two! Like on top of their downtown apartment building to near the water. It was a magical day! We only had a couple of raindrops and the rest passed right around us.

Jordan’s look just blew me away! Her classic style was PERFECTION on her and the bow! Friends the bow + her veil were just heavenly! I still am obsessed with all that dress! Again, can I say the BOW!

So many favorites from the day! From Jordan having a house party of amazing girlfriends that weren’t bridesmaids but were with us all day + Sam’s vows that had us all tearing up THEN……Jordan surprised the whole place with a “costume” change and a choreographed mash up dance with her dad! I included way to many of them jamming out below, but they did so awesome. Also you know I am a huge sucker for a jumpsuit! Lastly, you’ll see her Papa Petey getting down at the end of the dance to the song the twist! This is a long standing tradition and his eyes just LIT up at while shaking it!

Jordan and Sam, you both are remarkable and incredible! Your day was such an honor to capture and each detail shined so bright! It’s a night I won’t forget! Enjoy your blog sneak sweet friends! Wishing you all love, happiness and fun surprises for years to come! The best is yet to come!

Rose Gold + Giddy Van Dusen Mansion

These two! From our first call, to their amazing wedding day, Kayla’s smile + Jordan’s amazing humor are everything! We had SO much fun! Seriously their smiles made me giddy behind the camera all day!

Kayla + Jordan chose the Van Dusen Mansion because the courtyard felt like one of their favorite restaurants + park in NYC. Their love for travel was detailed throughout the day and we even were able to sneak in an engagement session in NYC in July (and I need to blog it!)  because it holds such a special place in their heart!

There were so many sweet details from the photos with each of their parents on the Dad’s ties and mom’s corsages. To their letters + vows and my favorite was their skate laces (hers figure skating, his hockey) was what they braided together in the middle of their ceremony! So unique!

I still can’t get over Kayla’s smile and how her presence just uplifts a room and how Jordan while seemingly quiet is honestly one of the kindest and funniest people I have ever met! Their day was filled with approximately one billion smiles, heart felt moments and laughter! The speeches were just wonderful as well!

Kayla + Jordan it was such a joy + honor to capture your amazing wedding day! I wish nothing more than tons of giggles and heartfelt hugs in your future! Sending you all my love! Enjoy your blog story!

Beautiful Tear-Filled Depot Wedding

Y’all this wedding pulled at my heart strings so much! It’s not often that I am at a venue back to back weekends, but it was a joy to be back at the Renaissance Minneapolis Depot.  The best part about my job is truly about people. So everything is always different each weekend, because each of my amazing couples are so unique + intricate!

The emotion of this day stole my heart. Kate and Bryan were just so incredibly tuned in to each other and the gravity of the day! From their letters, to their first look, to their vows, beautiful happy tears! My sweet friend Lara always says tears are truth. Yes, these two were speaking truth to each other all day through their tears!

The days color choices were so elegant with that beautiful soft gray blue! I love that each table was named after cities that are important to Kate and Bryan and you could read all the details of the cities during cocktail hour! Also, this pocket watch was used at the Depot when it was running by Bryan’s Grandfather!

My favorite parts of the day were Bryan’s twin sisters doing the ceremony and announcing them together! Shortly there after watching Bryan look down at his ring was a priceless capture for me! Kate’s sisters had such a great little play on SNL with their speech being a wedding update and sponsored cheer by Bryan’s favorite soda! Of course though, the sweet tears in looks + vows win always for me!

Kate and Bryan! I wish you nothing but truth and love through the years + your eyes. Laughter, fun, travel and of course a bit of Diet Mountain Dew. Love you so much! Enjoy the blog story!

Glittering Blush + Gold Depot Wedding

This was just the most amazing July wedding at the Renaissance Minneapolis Depot Hotel. This couple had such a connection to the venue! Claire and Nick were super inspired by the industrial feel of the train station and the grandness of the ballroom. Claire’s father designed many of the building surrounding the depot and the Hotel itself! It just felt like the perfect location and oh it was!

Claire chose all different designs for her bridesmaids dresses and seeing them come together was just so amazing and wonderful! Because of the connection of venue we photographed the majority of their images in the winter garden! We headed to their church for just an awesome ceremony filled with laughter and heart! The first kiss from the balcony!

On our way back we rocked out the new end remodel of the Depot!! The guys took off their jackets are rocked the suspenders. They entered their ballroom to the biggest roar of celebration! We cut their beautiful cake and enjoyed such a wonderful night of speeches and dancing!

Claire + Nick! I wish you nothing but the most amazing marriage and celebration ahead. You both are just remarkable humans and it was the most fun to be at your wedding day! Enjoy your blog story!!

Sweet + Stunning 7 Vines Vineyard Wedding

Tricia + Mike were married on an amazing Friday evening at 7 Vines Vineyard! Y’all Tricia and her whole look just blew me away! This dress her hair and her amazing earrings, borrowed from her maid of honor one of my past brides Kristin! Also, I just loved that her something blue was the locket of her adorable pup, Blue! Such a sweet play on that tradition!

I loved their sweet wedding party just supporting this crew however they could, with laughs and hugs and great jokes! Their ceremony outdoor at a vineyard, formal but so fun! The way these two looked at each other as they walked down the aisle for the first time as MR. and MRS. made my heart flutter!

The reception was full of laughs and the happiest of tears. One of my favorite parts was Mike’s brother speech which started with a good roast but had everyone in tears by the end, including me! It was so amazing to see everyone come alive on the dance floor and join together to celebrate the happy couple.

Tricia and Mike it was such an honor to be at your beautiful day! It was seriously such a joy! Wishing you years and years of happiness and Blue snuggles!

Heartfelt + Flower-filled Hutton House Wedding

Friends. This wedding is one for the record books! Not only had I been waiting and so excited to work with The Hutton House + Pristine Floral. Y’all Kara and Jacob are next level, top notch + full off every piece of life and joy that this world has. Their community of friends + bridal party are such a tight knit squad and lastly their elite eight and how these families love them is remarkable.

These images just make my heart explode with the amount of genuine emotion throughout the day! From the first look, to Jacob taking Kara in during her portraits. To every laugh, tear + silly face during the ceremony + speeches! In all of our planning times, these two wanted two things: Simplicity and Inclusivity. They did just that. They truly connected their favorite people through music (which was a band of their talented friends/family they put together) amazing unique + family style dinner from Twin Cities Paella + an intentional ceremony performed by Kara’s Step Dad.

You can see a beautiful pattern scattered through the day, a color blue that almost perfectly matches the outside of their home. This pattern was made by a local artist specifically for them. Was a big part of the day (their pups bandana) and just was stunning!!

The Floral by Jamie and her team BLEW ME AWAY. Seriously an incredible dream! You have to see all the amazing detail through the day! This set of colors, specifically with the bridal party attire made my eyes literally pop out of my head and dance all day!

Lastly, though I could go on forever about these two, is they LOVE to dance. I got to see them find every face on the dance floor whether it was little ones to grandmas to dance with! It was maybe the best dance party I had ever seen! I am drooling over the last couple dancing images of them at the end of the post. It depicts, their energy + love! Running/Dancing together, full of heart at life and loving those around them in the biggest way!

Jacob + Kara, there aren’t enough words to portray how you impact those around you. How your intentionality and your LIFE together gives and breathes LIFE into others! Every guest at your wedding was jolted with the most beautiful happiness + love that you radiate! I love you to pieces. Enjoy your blog sneak!

Intimate Wedding in the Peace Garden

Friends this intimate wedding was so elegant, yet easygoing! It was such a perfect merriment of just ease + love of families uniting! I don’t often photograph smaller weddings like this one, but I LOVED it just the same and had such an amazing time celebrating Cris + Kenan’s love!

All week long the forecast looked like rain, and these two had the one of the most gorgeous outdoor locations the Peace Garden. The weather cleared to after ceremony time and while the clouds seemed to darken a bit prior to, the light rain held off till RIGHT when we were finished! It was magical! This is was such an wonderful wedding all about family, love, fun + celebration on a summer afternoon!

Crazy Amazing Charleston Event Center Wedding

I am just so excited to share these sweet photos from Jenny + Chris’ beautiful wedding in White Bear Lake!

I’ve been photographing the bride’s brothers family for years so it truly felt like a family affair being there! It was such a joy to see … The first look absolutely stunning, and the Father of the Bride speech had me in tears with his sweet tribute to his little girl.

The Charleston Event center along with Jubilee Flower Studio transformed the venue into the “rustic, outdoor feel” the bride was hoping for. We went down to the beach where the wind almost blew us away before heading back to the reception to dance the night away. It was so fun to get away and celebrate the happy couple with their closest of friends!

What an amazing night and a great send off! Jenny + Chris I am so excited for your days ahead! SO much LOVE!
