Have a fabulous weekend!
This year I have truly noticed the beautiful flowers and green growth more than ever. I guess I never had the appreciation for the season of spring until this year when I couldn’t wait for the colors to return. With a winter that felt like an eternity, I was so sick of having drab grayish/brown backgrounds for photos. When things finally started growing and budding, I paid attention to every small step. I would say things like, “does this happen every year?” “Oooo what is that pretty flower? ” I am so thankful that I have had time to appreciate the beautiful growth that God has given us on this earth. Plus, they make my a beautiful backdrop for my photos 🙂
Since, a post is always better with photos, here are some of my favorite flower/prairie shots so far this year. Enjoy! I can’t wait till fall and the changing of the trees.
Meet Alyssa. Alyssa is going to be a senior at Eagan High School. She is super into softball and has a great eye for style. She can rock out the cowboy boots, uggs, and leggings! This girl had such a great tan. I miss being that perfectly bronze. I had not met her prior to booking her session and when she showed up in this amazing yellow ruffle top, I knew she would be a blast to shoot. I am totally into ruffle tops right now. It’s such a romantic and beautiful look, they definitely make me happy. ***Seniors looking to get their photos done this fall, sessions are filling fast. Give me a shout soon to get on the calendar. ***
PS. This girl thought she couldn’t pull of the serious face. I beg to differ! This is one of my favorites.
Meet Eli & Sydney. These two precious ones were only 10 days old when we met. They were so tiny and ADORABLE. They both have their own personality and I you can totally see that through these photos. It is such a treat for me to shoot newborns, I get in my “baby fix” in and the sessions are so calming. These two definitely remembered how to cuddle, not like they had done it for a previous 9 months or anything. I also loved how their mom styled their room, it is so fresh, modern, and cute. Totally my style. This session was Mom’s shower gift from her sister-in law, which I thought was such a creative and sweet gift and I was so happy and honored to be part of it.
****Expecting Moms interested in newborn sessions?? This was perfect timing for the newborns. Each of these images was captured at the their home, almost always between 5-10 days of life. At this time mom is starting to feel better and the baby is still young enough to be sleepy and “curled up.” Usually, I pencil in the due dates of my clients who are expecting and, once the baby is born, we finalize our plans and set a time. My newborn sessions are often a bit longer than a typical 1-2 hour session, and we follow the baby’s lead with lots of time for diaper changes, nursing, etc. I keep things relaxed and stress-free.****
You guessed it. We started this engagement session at the Drive-in. I was so excited to shoot Laura & Gino, because they both have great style and just really have such an adorable connection. I wasn’t suprised when I found out that Gino was voted one of Minneapolis/St. Paul’s top 101 beautiful people in 2006. Check it out here (click on photo 14) They both easily could be models. They were so much fun and up for my many different ideas. I cannot wait till their wedding next July! Warning..this is a MEGA post.
One of my favorites of the day.
Then we headed out to downtown St. Paul area, where these two first met. I love these next two photos. Just the emotion and their faces make me melt.
I am headed out of town for the weekend, but wanted to share a mini mini sneak of the adorable newborn twins session I had this week. Look for the full post early next week. Have a great weekend!
Who thinks they know where my latest engagement session took place? What type of location? Take a peek for some clues below. What do you think!?
Do your remember this little dynamic duo? It was so great to see them again! I got the privileged of spending my night with these adorable twins for their 1 year shots. It is amazing how much they have grown. They both were all smiles and giggles, and were such good movers. I love that little L was making noises just like her mom, seriously it was the cutest thing. My favorite part of the night was when little Ben gave me a little tap on the shoulder like “hey, pay attention to me, I am right here” just too cute. It is always a joy for me to work with this age, they both wanted to sit in my lap and just read books and play. Children’s laughter can brighten any day, I especially appreciated that after quite a long day! Thanks H family!
To be truthful, I have not felt very thankful today. It has just been a tough one to push through. I think my body is still adjusting from my car accident about a month ago and I am just trying to play catch up while being extremely exhausted. Ok, now that my mini vent is over. I still am grateful and know I am blessed. This week I am grateful for contacts. Now, contacts right.. nerdy thing to be thankful for. Well now take a look at the pictures below, and tell me that the big glasses route would have been better?!? Goofy I know, but I just was going through old pictures and couldn’t help but share some embarrassing pictures of myself.
Alright this first photo. Rockin’ out the model pose in the hallway, with the un-made bed to the right (Yes, that is my sister’s room. ha) Now my outfit. I mean this couldn’t have been the first day of school? All sweats? Ha green sweats to boot. I would have to say the best part would be the E-Spirit backpack. I remember how cool I felt with it. Wait do you see it? Don’t forget the scrunchy. But awesome glasses right?
Now this second photo, looks like I still have the same glasses. Sportin’ the Tweety Dairy Queen ice cream cake. Still love that stuff, the fudge and crumble layer is the bomb! But the slice bottle, and the really cool painted t-shirt I have. I think that was one of my favorites for awhile. Ha seriously I can’t stop laughing. Alright, I am interested to see if anyone else has some awesome embarrassing oldies like these ones 🙂
I was finishing up editing this family session last night, when I came across theses images of Lacey telling little Olivia secrets. I absolutely love this series of photos, because they are such real moments. I never would have thought telling secrets would light up a little girl this much. This is why it is so great when my clients are themselves in front of the camera, because we end up with amazing photos, capturing the real you. I get to tell your story through my camera.
Try not to smile while looking at these images. I dare you!
Here are some of my favorite baby items I have found on Etsy. Most of these would be great additions to your child’s photoshoot or session, and they are just so STINKIN’ cute!! I can’t wait till we are ready to have babies. Literally, I have severe baby fever after finding all this cute stuff. I should start saving my money now for my Etsy baby items slush funds now. Note: all photos below are directly from the Etsy Store listings, not me.
KnottyBabyWear | Leggings and more!
Lovely Duds | Baby Wraps (I love these so much, I am thinking about ordering one now and sticking my pup in it. Sad I know but so cute!)
Pretty Baby Bowtique | Flower headband & hats
Bella Bows | Stylish Accessories For Boys And Girls
Super cute for girls too!
As I promised, here is a mega blog post of Darcy & Dan’s wedding. They had the most beautiful day in July to be married. They were married at Plymouth Creek Center, which is a beautiful outdoor wedding venue. There were many familiar faces at this wedding, and it was so great to see everyone take part in their special day. I would have to say my favorite moment was when I arrived. I had a had a quick chat with the Groom. He was so extremely excited in his cool and calm manner. I totally knew right then it was going to be an awesome day. During the ceremony, I was won over by how much these two love each other! I am so glad to call them friends. The reception was also a blast as everyone got down on the dance floor right away! Thanks again for letting me capture your gorgeous wedding day.
My Assistant Mitch Grabbed these awesome location shots.
Now to the beautiful details.
Now to the rockin’ reception.
Then a perfect pose to end the night.
I have spent my evening editing, my eyeballs are ready to fall out. Full blog post from this wedding tomorrow.
Just a couple of my favorites from tonight’s family session. Watch out ladies, this little man is a stud muffin. His sister is pretty cute herself. Look at their gorgeous parents, its a no brainer.
I am thankful for many things, but most of all this week my pup Mya. She has been a good lil’ buddy to cuddle with lately. And yes, she lets me dress her up from time to time. These pictures were taken awhile ago, but it still makes it a Thankful Thursday from my 4.7 pd puppy of sheer fierceness 😉 What are you thankful for today?
