SAPPHIRE POINT COLORADO WEDDING

WHOOP!! This Colorado loving Minnesotan had her first wedding back in the mountains this June. It was remarkable! I hadn’t been back to Colorado since Cal was born and I couldn’t be more excited to share this wedding with y’all. Literally it was the perfect event to come back to! I swear something happens when I pop off that plane and drive into the mountains that makes my heart swell. This stunning wedding was at Sapphire Point right outside of Breckenridge and the reception at a private residence in Breck.

Julia my sweet bride and I went to private school together back in the day! She was and is an amazing basketball player and she to this day still says if I would have stayed at Meadow Creek after 8th grade we all could have gone to state! So many of my close friends are from those elementary days, I often wonder what it would have been like to graduate with that crew!! It was so incredibly wonderful to catch up with Julia’s family. Everyone was so amazing and welcoming!

Julia and Jim live in one of my other favorite places on the planet: Manhattan Beach, California. Seriously there and Hermosa are the greatest little towns there! I feel like there are a good chunk of MN transplants there as well! This couple wanted to tie the knot this summer somewhere private and simple surrounded by those most important to them. Jim’s family was such a close knit group, which in this day and age is just an honor to see. Jim and his siblings are so close and it was just really sweet to witness them all connecting as they live all over the US. It was really sweet to see.

I’d have to say one of my favorite parts of the day was talking all things soccer with the groom on the ride up the mountain and also loved the sweet tears that were shed by family during the processional. So sweet. Julia and Jim! So much love to you and your families! SapphirePointColoradoMountainWedding__004 Julia and Jim had the MOST amazing planning team in CO. I would recommend Joann with her company Mountains and Meadows Wedding 100 times over! I had such fun coordinating and rocking this wedding out with her and her team!!

Abby + Andrew Wedding

I just loved this green and navy mountain wedding day! It was truly the day of A’s! First my bride and groom’s names were Abby and Andrew. They got married at the Afton Apls. We had an awesome wedding party, some crazy accurate weather (poured like crazy during their ceremony) and we definitely got some amazing looks with these two.

One thing I just love is when couples gather with their wedding party and have a quiet time of prayer before the ceremony or even just sweet words spoken over them before the big day! It’s such an incredible moment. It was incredibly important to these two that the Lord is praised and glorified through this day and goodness and He was! I just LOVE the sneak of their wedding video by Capture the Moments, of them reading their letters to each other.

I love that the natural and greenery with the pop of navy was the theme of the day! It was so classic and beautiful and kept the day focused on the fellowship! Wedding dress designer/store purchased:Mori Lee, Purchased from Bride to Be Consignment

Dear photographer friend like me that is so hard on yourself. We are all working so hard for perfection in our images. For perfect light, for it to be or look like film, for each image to be perfectly tack sharp, with the perfect skin tones.

While those are great things for us to keep in our minds. Let us not forget the most important reason why we do what we do.

We as photographers GET TO preserve memories, moments in time. Even ones that might seem mundane.

Look back at the last image in my feed: It isn’t magazine worthy, but man it’s priceless to me because it holds so much meaning to me that I cherish it. Literally so incredibly grateful for it, but at the time I first saw it I didn’t even understand the meaning.

So give yourself grace. Your every image doesn’t always have to be perfect or on brand.

Just focus on loving others through your camera by capturing people in their element so that when 10 years past, 50 years past your clients can look back through your images and see legacy, gratitude and the beauty that was in that moment.
