“And God says: Well G, here’s the thing. Peace isn’t the absence of distractions or annoyance or pain. It’s finding ME, finding peace and calm, IN THE MIDST of those distractions and annoyances and pains” -Glennon Doyle Melton | Carry on, Warrior.
I am currently crying and laughing my brains off through the book Carry on, Warrior. It’s got so many good little quotes (like the one above) that make my heart explode. I also am loving this image of my dear friend Em the Gem. It’s just such a representation of where I want to live right now. In the in between moments. To soak them in and not be just waiting for the next big thing. To find the Lord in the midst of my everyday. The hard, the overwhelmingly busy, the good. To find peace, HIS peace and stillness in the midst.
I finished Carry On, Warrior a couple of weeks ago. Such an amazing book. I was just talking with a friend about it this afternoon. xoxo
Images like this–whether someone else’s or my own–always grab me and become my favorites. They make me s-l-o-w d-o-w-n and appreciate a moment, and for someone (me) who tends to live and think ten seps ahead of where she’s at, that is a good thing. This one stopped me dead in my tracks last night, and it and your words have been with me since. Love you, G.
P.S. I am in love with the look of the tattoo on her forearm. 🙂
love you! getting to hang out with you all weekend blessed my soul.
