Surprise Snow + Burgundy Milwaukee Wedding
My final wedding of 2019 did not disappoint! There is just something incredibly special about photographing another family member of a past couple. When Adam’s sister Sarah contacted me. I can’t lie I squealed in excitement! It’s always so fun to spend time with amazing clients and their families again! It’s such an awesome time!
These two live in California where Justin is from, yet really wanted to get married in the church Sarah grew up in! Their hearts were set on making each part of their day connected to what is important to them. Their faith, friends and family from all over the world, their music + readings all were so unique. Also their choice to opt-out of cake and opt-in for Kopps Custard! It’s a Milwaukee classic and the best was the DJ kept saying ice cream and everyone kept yelling out it’s CUSTARD! 🙂 These two LOVE to travel and have a goal of hitting every national park in their lifetime, it was great to see pictures at the tables and in cocktail hour of their travels already so far!
So many favorite parts to the day!! From the sweet moment after they walked out of the church. These two didn’t do a first look and they really got a moment to take each other in! (this hardly even happens when there is no first look!) and I just melted when I saw Justin lean in for a sweet shoulder kiss. The rest of my favorites are quite hilarious. From the best man fainting during the ceremony, he worked hard to get up a couple of times and then owning it and using it perfectly in his best man speech for the crowd to just erupt in laughter! Was amazing!
Also, the crazy snow! Seriously it came out of nowhere, it wasn’t on the radar and the second we lined up to take the first bridal party shot, it pelted snow with whipping winds! Like tiny balls of snow/hail and it was hilarious as it was so unexpected! It did this a couple of times during formals and this amazing wedding party smiled right through it!
Knowing Sarah wanted a fall feel for her wedding, we found some amazing color still left and I gave her my sperry boots as we captured some great portraits! These two throughout the day were just incredible and so excited to get married. They cherished the time with their friends and family before the ceremony and truly had a blast the rest of the day (see their entrance and room reveal) My heart is so inspired by them to live to the full!
Sarah + Luthey, I wish you nothing but a million years together living in the spontaneous adventure that you so wonderfully do! I pray for surprise snowstorm + sunshowers to always remind you of your amazing wedding and laughter to carry for a lifetime. So grateful to call you friends + deliver this blog sneak! SO MUCH LOVE!
