I remember popping out of the shower to a phone call & text message from a friend mentioning I was chosen. I remember screaming in excitement. I remember a long plane ride. I remember being nervous. I remember I downloaded the Pilot episode of Glee (to figure out why all these crazy people were talking about) and was finishing it on the decsent into Watercolor. Don’t Stop Believing was playing while I walked off the plane, with tears in my eyes. I felt a burst of energy jolt through my body. I was excited, I was ready, I knew something big was coming.
Who knew it would start such a journey? Sometimes I sit back and have to pinch myself, its not always a bed of roses. Yet, my MTH2010 experience was such a pivotal moment in my life, marriage and business.
Listening to this again today brought tears to my eyes of where I was almost a year ago and what I have become today. So grateful to those who have been involved in my personal journey. Thank you, I am so utterly blessed to have you in my life. Today my heart is so grateful.

Sarah & Mark’s big day was planned perfectly. I was blown away went I walked in, Sarah looked like a life size barbie! Her hair make-up and just all the little details left me breathless. This beautiful wedding was held at Olympic Hills Golf Course and what a perfect spot. From the willow trees, to golf balls, to a gorgeous landscaping!
I loved Sarah’s shoes! Comfy yet so sheik. My assistant Leah grabbed this beautiful shoe frame.
The bridesmaid shoes were to DIE for. This is probably one of my favorite ring shots to date, toe prints and all!

I always encourage my couples to set out some time for sunset photos. This is where we leave the scene after dinner for a minute and go out as a newly married couple to take in the day. It’s gives you a chance to get photos in this nummy golden light and be alone as a couple. I heart this set of photos.
Beautiful. Stunning. Amazing…. Is how I would describe this shoot. I love shooting Seniors! Morgan is a senior at Eagan High School who is love with Country music, the tv show Brothers and Sisters, and softball. She was such a blast to work with.
The amazing Sarah Cotner had her album release and live performance this last saturday at Acadia Cafe. Sarah, like me, was recovering from being sick, but with some robitussin and crowd love she rocked out her set. Sarah is slated to play next at Beneath the Surface & the Fine Line. Jessica :: Cooking Club What an amazing opportunity, if only I had unlimited Anthro funds;-) I am part of a local (twin cities) cooking club and while we try and capture the images of the food we create each month we do a very mediocre job and the pics that are actually of the people usually end up in the recycle bin. I have always dreamed of having a full photo shoot of our friends and our food to remember the amazing times that we have all shared together and you would be my first pick for a photog (heck, we’ll even feed you and feed you well!)
Kerry :: Grandfathers Memories Hi! My grandpa has Alzheimers and is really starting to lose his memory. My grandpa loved, loved, loved Minneapolis. They were here from ’50-76, than they moved. He loved his house in SW Msp, Loved Downtown, Lake Harriet, the Creek, Edina country club, etc. I would love to be able to go to his favorite spots and get the beauty of why he loved those spots, so that he could remember them. This would be the best present I could give to him. He is sooo mad and depressed that he his losing his memory. He was such a smart, well known business man here and its sad to see him going. Thanks! Donya :: Storm Chasing Well I know this one would be extremely tough, but my husband and I are both meteorologists and we both storm chase. Or I should say, we DID storm chase, before our son was born. This summer storm chasing has been much harder, but once he’s our son is a little older I would love to have photos of us storm chasing as a family. Riding in the car, eating gas station food while we wait for the storms to develop, teaching him to look at weather models and radar, showing him storm structure, and of course, taking photos of the thunderstorms.
Also, wanted to share some more of this adorable maternity session. Lacey who you should recognize from earlier shoots is now carrying her second child. Big Sister Olivia is super excited for her new little sister to arrive. We spent the afternoon letting our hair loose and giggle with paint.

These are the moments that I get the privilege of capturing. The vows, the speeches, the sermons, their first look. They often move me to tears and make me wonder why I ever wear eye make-up to weddings. These happy tears warm my heart.
A new idea here my friends. As most of you know I am working hard to push myself in the world of creativity. In the midst of heavy wedding and engagement season, I am looking for something with a different flavor. Here is where you come in.
I am asking for an out of the box, unique idea for a styled photoshoot. Share with me your wildest concept, something you have been cooking up for awhile, something you thought a photographer would never want to shoot!! Challenge me.
Examples? Truly anything out of the ordinary that you are passionate about. You and your friends eating pizza, you your nerdy (or cool) hobby, or a play on props from your childhood. Some of my favorite shoots as of late are :: Newlywed Series. Milya’s Daydreams. Love. These are the feel that I am going for. Inspirational, free form, and creative!

Mr. Charlie August. You stole my heart on a mid July day. You are too cute for words and lil’ ladies watch out he is going to be a heartbreaker.
I just couldn’t resist these ones, as fire fighting is a big deal in the Gaulke household. Love this lil’ set.
My little sister looked incredible on her wedding day. Ok. Ok. Nate you did too. Just a couple of sneaks, that I am sending their way. Happy Honeymooning! Love you both.
Josalyn & Blake celebrated their one year anniversary with a trip to Minnesota and a photo session with me. The spark that these two have is contagious. Their giggles, goofiness and grounded nature was so encapsulating. Happy Anniversary to you both, you are amazing.
Somebody pinch me. I just finished a two hour workout and now sitting in a coffee shop after I devoured the most amazing organic Chicken wrap, paired with a soy honey latte. I seriously can’t believe this is my life. I feel so utterly blessed. Don’t get me wrong, I am still working like a dog i.e. 12-14 hour work days, but I am splitting it up with things I enjoy. Hot yoga, iced tea with pearls (my summer break from chai), and workouts outside in the beautiful MN summer.
I am also getting a chance to do many little projects on the side. I have a huge passion for helping out small businesses. Whether it’s freshening up their blog or website, lessons on social media, etc. if you have a great thing going I want to help you tell people about it. It gives me yet another way to push myself creatively and in my own business while providing a nice break from the usual tasks of emailing and editing.
Oh and I did turn another year older this July, which freaks me out a little bit! I have always had a timeline of having at least one baby by the time I am 30. I just can’t imagine having a kid anytime soon, I am just getting the hang of myself these days. Having a lil’ Zeidler running around, not currently in the playbook. 3-5 years?
Lastly, this month I received a call from the wonderful Lara Casey asking me to document the fall tour of MTH2010. I almost fainted. I am so elated and grateful to be a part of something that has been such a big part of my personal journey. The darling Emily Ley is also going on tour, the moment I got off the phone with Lara, Emily and I had a squeal fest via phone. So, if you haven’t checked out MTH2010 yet, read what the Alumni have to say, or better yet do this post and if it speaks to you, I encourage you to look at the dates and attend. I look forward to meeting all the attendees, many of the cities are close to full so be sure to reserve your seat!
